The Commodore's Ball!

December 1, 2007

Kingston, WA

Our Winter Bash was held at “My Girl,” a fifties-themed drive-in restaurant and museum in North Kitsap.  We had a marvelous catered dinner, a Dee Jay with just the right mix of oldies, and enough wine to get those of us who actually experienced the 50’s to think we could still dance to rock and roll!  We were encouraged to wear period dress.

Dinner!

Settling down for the dinner – notice all the period memorabilia around the rooms.

Dancing!

Remember the Poodle Skirt?  Commodore Mark and wife, Sandy, lead off the dancing.... and woohoo!  The rest joined in!

We ALL were really, really, great dancers!

Limbo!

Fun!

The folks in EHYC certainly know how to get into the spirit of things, as attested to by these photos!

The prize for Best Female Attire went to Jean Fernandes.  And David Parker was the best 50's kind of guy!

Above, the hairpiece looked even better on Doug! And wow! What a museum! Lots of Elvis and old cars (Liz did have permission from the owner to have her drink in car area despite the sign on the windshield to the contrary) And those '50's cuties.... remember the pleated skirts?

It was definitely a Blast from the Past, not to mention a wonderful evening.
