Rick Randall | Commodore
I grew up in the San
Francisco Bay area in a family where small-boat sailing was
a passion. My wife Cindy and I have owned several sailboats
over the years, including a Cal 20 and a Tartan 31. We moved
to Bainbridge in 2005, in part because of the great
year-round boating opportunities. In 2007 we decided to make
the "big move" to a power boat, and became the owners of Compadre, a 1929 Stephens classic power cruiser. In addition
to EHYC, we are active in the Classic Yacht Association, and
enjoy showing Compadre at various CYA events and cruising
Northwest waters. I look forward to working with all of you
this year as Commodore.

Nancy McCaughey | Vice Commodore
As a girl from Park Ridge,
Illinois, I never imagined my life would have boating in it! In college, I went
to Hawaii to become the cook on an 80-foot schooner, and after graduating,
co-founded a non-profit educational organization that led visitors on sailing
tours of the islands on our two 38-foot sailboats. After returning to the
mainland, I met David, a resident alien from Canada and soon our dream of living
in a village near water and a vibrant city came true with a move to
Bainbridge....except as David said, “Living here without a boat is like living
on a freeway without a car!” That was the catalyst for finding Moonbow, our 31
ft. Camano Troll and setting out on a new adventure of cruising in the PNW. Our
other objective for taking up boating was to meet fun and interesting people.
Joining EHYC in 2009 has exceeded expectations with new friends, shared
knowledge of boating in the NW, and fun gatherings. David and I hope to get to
know many more of you this year!

Billie and I
emigrated to the Pacific Northwest in 1983, and found
paradise on Bainbridge Island. We have been boating since 1998 and
have cruised the southern waters of Puget Sound north to
Desolation Sound, and have sailed around BVI and the coast
of Belize with friends on 42ft Lagoon catamarans. I am a
coxswain with the U.S.C.G. Auxiliary and have taught the
Safe Boating Class for six years on the island. We recently
exchanged our NONSUCH Sailboat for a 30ft Sundowner Tug “Sea
Turtle” and now “fly” across Puget sound waters at 7 knots!
Since joining the EHYC five years ago we have met many
wonderful friends and we thoroughly enjoy the cruises and
social events. There is no better place on earth in the
summer than the Puget Sound and we hope to see you on a club
cruise or other social event this year!

Mark and I moved to
Bainbridge Island in 1997, after spending 27 years in Hong
Kong. We owned several sail boats during that time, ranging
from 23' to 42' and we took part in many races in and around
the region. After moving to the Island, we sailed for
several years until we moved over to the "dark side" "Double
Haven" is our trawler and we have cruised the San Juans,
Gulf Islands and the South Sound. We still sail on other
people's boats with the Wednesday Sailors. The Club has been
a great way to meet people and we have enjoyed the fantastic
rendezvous' and social events. Come and join us !

Harper | Treasurer
After living for many years
in the San Francisco Bay Area where I spent weekends on a
trawler gunk holing in the Northern California Delta, I
moved to Washington in 2002. I have also enjoyed boating in
the pristine waters of Panama, South Africa and the
not-so-pristine waters off the coast of Bombay, India.
Bainbridge Island is a great starting point to explore the
Sound and I have enjoyed visiting the Gulf Island, San Juan
Islands, Desolation Sound and the South Sound. I currently
don’t have a boat but enjoy exploring the waters around
Bainbridge in my kayak.
