We
kicked off 2011 with a SuperBowl Party and Chili Cookoff at the
Clubhouse with both EHYC and BIYC contending for the coveted
Best Chili Trophy! We had 10 entries this year, every one unique
and delicious. And the winner was..... Eagle Harbor Yacht Club,
thanks to our very own Commodore and chef extraordinaire,
Rick Randall, pictured here with his wife, Cindy. With a new
flat screen TV in the clubhouse, the game was enjoyed by all.
Will BIYC grab the trophy next year?

"Costumes not optional" was taken seriously by members
attending the BIYC 4th Annual Halloween Party at the Eagle
Harbor Marina Clubhouse. Members from both clubs pulled out all
the stops and it was darned difficult to identify folks. More
than one get-up kept us guessing through he night! Brenda
Sargent did a terrific job on decorating. This party just keeps
getting better and better! |

Blown Glass, Beer &
Brats. It was a rather soggy weekend, but that didn't
keep us from having a good time together at the Dock Street
Marina in Tacoma. What a great venue, with so much to see and
do: some members enjoyed the glass, art and history museums,
while others took part in the glass blowing. Good beer, good
brats, good kraut, good times.

Aloha in Port Ludlow!
The Friday night Mai-Tai Mixer with the Port Ludlow Yacht Club
was delightful, and included a burgee exchange between Commodore
Cindy Robinson and PLYC Commodore Peggy Kulm. With everyone
donning their leis on Saturday night, a great time was had by
all. These pictures will make you smile. Gregg & Cindy Robinson
were cruise captains for the event.

How to Roast a Pig: Our first effort at using the
Club's new Caja China Roaster was a huge success! Here is a
blow-by-blow montage of pictures showing our piggy from start to
finish. The 56 lb. pig fed 48 people.

There were crabs
galore at the third annual crab feed and wine tasting in
June. Over 70 members and friends took part this year at the
Point Hudson Marina in beautiful Port Townsend. With Barb & Rod
McKenzie's flawless planning and execution, this party just gets
better every year! The dinner event was preceded the night
before by a boat-renaming ceremony conducted by Donna DeMeyer who
welcomed "Mrs. Robinson"!

"THAT'S AMORE!" John
and Laura Dresel did a tremendous job organizing a bella
notte at Port Orchard Marina. We all had fun figuring out
answers to the Italian Trivia Quiz. The food was out of this
world and in spite of the wind and rain, the
atmosphere, energy,
and camaraderie couldn't be beat.

The weather was
picture-perfect for this community event. Many of our
members were able to lighten their lazarettes by selling off
no-longer-needed boat related items. The barbecue was fired up
and our raffle brought in over $500 for the 4th of July
fireworks fund! Thanks to Mark and Sandy Leese for organizing
the festivities.
