EHYC Boat-of-the-Month September 2007 "Carolina" 1999 Taswell 44 Sloop
Owned by Frank & Gail Wohlford
What draws us to boating, to the water? We are blessed in the NW with a vast inland sea containing literally thousands of breathtaking destinations. Here is stern-tied Carolina to illustrate the point. Can you identify the spot? No? But you probably have personal experience with similar anchorages. And, of course, there is also the joy and adventure of sailing to it (or motoring for some of us!)
Carolina is a Taswell 44 sloop, lovingly owned
by Frank and Gail Wohlford (Frank was our 2005 EHYC Commodore).
Carolina was built in Taiwan in 1999. Gail and Frank also became
Bainbridge Islanders the same year. Their sailing lineage includes a
Sabre 362, a Tartan 31, a San Juan 24, a Rhodes Bantam, plus various
windsurfers. Carolina served as home for Frank and Gail from 2000
to
2004 on 'A' dock at Winslow Wharf.

Looking forward: The settee. Note the remarkable Taswell joinery.
And here is a galley suitable for the longest cruise (or living aboard).... |
