Banners flying on Island Troll, Carolina and Radio Flyer.  Blue skies and shirt sleeve weather!

Seven boats arrived Friday and the activities got underway at 1800 hours with a "blind" wine tasting competition well organized by Rod McKenzie.  The event was held on the dock under the canopy next to our boats.  Winners included Woods, McKenzie's, Harpers, Brackens.  Prizes were EHYC caps and Tony 'n Tina's Wedding caps, T shirts and shot glasses.  Everyone brought appetizers and/or desserts and after the wine tasting pizza was delivered for dinner to a merry crowd.  The event was well received and thanks to Rod for organizing it.

Friday evening appetizers, pizza and blind wine tasting under the canopy.  Red wine #10 was the runaway favorite!

Saturday was free until the "Cruise Captains Mast" held at 1700 hrs.  Some went over to Port Orchard and others visited Bremerton attractions.  Most had lunch at the new "Anthony's Restaurant overlooking the Marina.

It is hard to beat great weather, good company and a chance to mess around on boats!

Cruise Captains Mast took place at 1700 hours and after donning his official hat (Sandy Leese's colander) Cruise Captain David fined various miscreants for crimes he had contrived that ran from a number of flag etiquette failures, to non payment of berthing on time, not having a name on their boat and last to arrive. The fines ranged from $5 to $25 but were all exchanged for club caps or bags with EHYC logo embroidered.  However, skullduggery was afoot as Rod McKenzie took over and fined the Cruise Captain for having his burgee upside down.  On inspection this was found to be correct and the fine was paid for not seeing that someone had done this dastardly deed (Mark Leese - Prime Suspect).

Cruise Captain’s Mast at 1700 on Saturday.  We are sure he made this up on the fly!

The official colander hat adds a nice air of formality to the proceedings.

Following this, the group headed up to Bremerton's art deco Admiral Theatre to see the production of Tony n Tina's Wedding (where we were joined by Irva Cooper and colleague).  This was a wonderful interactive crowd performance (including dinner) and a great time was had by all.  Debi Harper thought it was better than the Las Vegas production she had seen and certainly everyone was dancing and loving it!

Following the show we walked back to the Marina and the partying continued mostly aboard CAROLINA for those who didn't go to bed.

Sunday was departure day and as Cruise Captain, I would like to thank all who participated.  We had a wonderful time because we had a great crowd and everyone participated with a fun spirit.

Respectfully submitted,
